The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak. ~Hans Hofmann, Introduction to the Bootstrap, 1993
Well it’s that time of year again! Time for Spring cleaning. I have been planning on doing a huge sweep through my home for quite some time. I was draggin my feet until I saw Oprah’s show yesterday and today. It went inside the home of a hoarder. It showed how not setting limits to how many things accumulate in your home could have disastrous results. It really made me take a second look at my home and identify ways that I could simplify my life. In a nutshell, here are a few of my short term goals:
1. Clean out drawers and cabinets (week one)
2. Clean out all closets (week two)
3. Donate clothes to charity, friends, and family(week two)
4. Find a definite “Home” for everything I own.
5. Stop bringing new things in my home.
For now, that’s plenty. I’ve decided to do 30 minutes a day until, I’ve rid my home of all clutter.
As far as cleaning goes, I’ll start with the front rooms like the hearth room, great room, dining room, and the kitchen. I especially need to do the hearth room because of my dogs. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

Your house looks like a magazine. I like the art work in the hearth room.
